I’m interested in sharing images I’ve taken with my cameraphone through applications such as TwitPic and Flickr. However, those seem to only accept images sent from mobile email, which requires a costly data plan. Ideally, I’d like to snap a picture from my phone and share it immediately with my friends. Is there any hope for me?

If not over Twitter or Flickr, is there a seperate image based social networking site I can use? Remember, I want to upload images by sending them like I would any normal text message with an image attatched. If not, what else can I do (that’s cheap!) to share images mobilely? If I could write a program to turn the image-attatchment-SMS into an email would TwitPic or Flickr accept it? What would I have to know in order to do that? I have a passing knowledge of Perl. Would that get me anywhere? Thanks to all in advance.

If it helps, my phone is a Sony Eriksson w580i with a 4 GB SanDisk memory card and my provider is AT&T.
Thank you for the correction. In this case, is it possible to upload images to services like Twitter using MMS? Like I said, the goal in any case is to snap a picture on my phone, attatch it like I would any picture message, and upload it. How could I do that?
