there is so much stuff on the internet to consume your time….myspace, facebook, Yanswers….email,etc….will there ever come a time when people will just give up and stop using the internet? What would happen if the internet suddenly stopped working????

People would be forced to have real conversations, in person. Families would return to having family night. Pedophiles would have to find other ways of finding victims.

If the internet stopped working, people would suddenly realize what it was to go outside and see sunlight. Wait, and world with no Ebay? Scarrrrrry.

There would be a marked decline in usage if a new medium emerged to supplant it; however, the dynamic and semi-rhizomal aspect of the Internet makes it adaptible in such a way that it can encompass all other media (radio, TV, etc). The speculation that the Internet would just “stop working” seems implausible given that there is no central node that controls it all, but rather a proliferation of several servers worldwide. If it DID stop running, it would most likely have a strong affect on stock trading, and would be a major inconvenience for many people.

It’s an addiction, much like any other addiction the sudden stopping of it will cause the addict to have withdrawl symptoms.. there would be mass amounts of suicide, shaking, and otherwise complete boredom… the only way to stop it would have been for it to never be invented… now we must wait for something even more addicting to come along.

i was thinking about this the other day, to have to set down and write a real letter! i didnt do that much be fore the internet, but i do still have my phone, and my car. probably take more trips, see more people, make more friends, ………… i got to go, bye

Do what we did before, watch more TV, play more video games.
Read books or enjoy what is actually out there that you once found on the Internet….OPEN YOUR MIND!!!
