On Facebook, the only part of your profile that asks if you are conservative is your political preference. Conservative is the general term attributed to Republicans.

Though slutty may be one small part of the Democrat platform, it is not a fair term to describe your political idealogies.

I use Twitter constantly, and the only insecurity you can find is by posting your information publicly. Online networks like Facebook, MySpace, and even Twitter use a lot of personal information for marketing tools and data mining…your username and password are not at stake, otherwise, they’d be liable for privacy laws and so forth.

If you don’t feel like using the same login info for your Twitter, its not paranoia. Feel free to create and new username/password, even create a new email account (Yahoo!, GMail, Hotmail, etc.) to lessen the chances someone who might discover your login information to access everything.

If you diversify your security, you can give yourself peace of mind. Just make sure to either commit them to memory, or write them down. Note: Its not suggested to save your login info in a document or file on your computer, in the off-chance your computer is compromised in any way.

You’re misunderstanding the instructions.

Your twitter login name is the same as your email address. The password it asks for is your Twitter password, not your email password.

Update: Oh, you’re talking about the “Invite people from other networks” feature.

They seem to be using the Password AntiPattern ( http://adactio.com/journal/1357 )

Don’t give them your password. They can *probably* be trusted, but it usually violates the terms and conditions of your email service and there is usually a better way for them to get their data. I wouldn’t reward them for being lazy.
