Is Columbus Day celebrated in the Old World?

Speaking of Old worlds, if our storytelling is not appreciated here, we could create a wiki for telling stories – call it the Old World – and just have fun there. We could leave links to it here so friends could find us. I’m learning how to do things like blog and twitter at work, so would be interested in a wiki format that we could use. Anyone game?
I was mostly being silly. Columbus discovered the New World.

That is an American holiday. He is probably honored in Spain and Italy in some other way.
I game for your wiki idea. Don’t know how to go about it though.

The only people that celebrate it in the New World are government employees and banks.

Here is an interesting link with information on Columbus Day and the countries celebrating it:

I’d like it if we had a place to tell our stories where they would be appreciated. I’m not very computer savvy though. I’ve heard of blogs, but have no idea what a ‘wiki’ or a ‘twitter’ is. lol It’s a great idea if you can work it out. I’m one who usually lets others ‘test drive’ and join in after things are running smoothly. I even buy my cars used. lol

I’m sure that, to folks in the Old World, or Old Country, Columbus was merely an explorer who, seeking a new trade route, blundered onto a different continent. Actually, the United States was named for Amerigo Vespucci.
The PC group revile Columbus for his part in the stealing of land from the natives (meaning the immigration wouldn’t have started if it hadn’t been for him). Although I’m sure someone would have started the influx sooner or later.
Bite your tongue, girl! That’s just what the trolls want.
